Paris Region a world-class location "2007 performance scoreboard"

The region’s attractiveness stems partly from the structural advantages related to scheduled and completed long-term public investments in various master plans and five-year plan contracts (transport and communications infrastructures, backbone investment in Research & Development, etc.). This collective capacity to invest represents a tremendous asset. In October 2006, Paris Region began to draw up an ambitious economic development strategy for the coming years. In particular this strategy focuses on supporting business development in eight priority sectors: optics and complex systems, life sciences, transport and mobility, the creative industry, eco-industries, personal services, financial services, and tourism and leisure. Other sectors with significant employment potential will also be supported, including construction, engineering and the food industry.
In 2007, Paris Region will also draw up a planning strategy to meet the challenges of tomorrow.
